[CerNak] - The Sweet Honey

 

One spring day, there was a bee named Bebe. Bebe was so happy that day. He flew between flowers.

Spring was coming. There were so many colorful flowers. It interested him. He could land from one flower to another. He could get nectar more than before then made it to be honey.

Bebe landed on a purple flower. He tried to suck the nectar from the flower. But suddenly, he shocked. He felt that the nectar was strange. Bebe looked to his friends. They felt the same. Even some of them spewed the nectar.

“What’s going on with the nectar? It’s bitter,” Bee said to his friends curiously.

“Something wrong with it,” Noah, another bee, said. He was looked nauseous.

“We can’t harvest it,” Leah, the only girl bee in this group, was disappointed. Actually, it would be big harvest. But It was fail coz the nectar was not sweet anymore.

“Oh, no. It will be disaster.” Noah was little bit afraid of this situation.

“We have to tell to the Queen,” Bebe asked his friends to go to the castle. They had to meet the Queen to talk about this.

Bebe and his friends met the Queen. They gathered in the main room of the castle. They said about weird thing today.

“What do you mean?” The Queen’s frowned. She did not understand what Bebe said.

Bebe tried to explain to the Queen. “The nectar is so bitter. We can’t harvest it.”

Bebe gave a bottle of nectar to the Queen. The Queen received the bottle doubtful. She opened the bottle slowly. She smelt different flavor. It was not like usual. She took the bottle far away. “What’s this?”

“That is the nectar. We took this from the flowers,” Noah was tremble. He was afraid of the Queen.

The Queen took a little bit of the nectar then licked it. “ Yagh! It’s so bitter! How could it happen?” The Queen’s voice rose. She gave the bottle to the guard. She was looked angry. No one in that room saw her directly.

“We don’t know. We just went to the garden to harvest then found it.” Leah tried to explain.

The Queen stood then spook loudly. “I want to investigate this case!”

The Commander went forward then said, “I’m ready for this command, My Lord.”

People became panic. Bebe and Noah felt so sad about this situation.

“It’s worse,” Noah said to Bebe. They leaved the castle then flied around through the jungle. Bebe was just quite. His face looked so tight.

“What are you thinking about?” Noah asked to Bebe.

Bebe sighed slowly and deeply. “I am thinking about the mastermind behind of this tragedy. It is impossible happen incidentally. There is a person who make the nectar to be bitter. I am sure that ...”

Bebe did not continue his talking. A noise interested him. Bebe turned to Noah who clammed up beside him then gave sign to follow him. 

Bebe and Noah flied nearly to the noise. They spied behind the trees. They saw there, two bees sucked up the nectar then collected it to the barrel then brought them to a place.

“Let’s follow them!” Bebe asked to Noah.

Noah was surprised. “Where?” His voice was listened scarily.

“I don’t know. Just follow them!” Bebe flied fastly and leaved Noah.

“Hey, Be! Wait me!” Noah flied behind Bebe. They arrived to a cave in the middle of the jungle. The bees who brought the nectar entered to that cave then flied again.

“They collect that nectar. What will they do?” Noah whispered to Bebe.

“You want to know?! Let’s enter to the cave.” Bebe flied slowly to the cave.

Noah flied behind Bebe but he did not want to enter the cave. He was afraid. “Wait! We don’t know what happen on the cave.”

“If you want to know, you have to enter,” Bebe tried to persuaded Noah.

Noah flied then entered to the cave. The cave was not large. There was no one except barrels. “What is inside?”

“That could be nectar.” Bebe opened one barrel.

“Why do they collect unsweet nectar?” Bebe thought hardly then asked to Noah. “I think it’s better if you go to castle now. You have report this to the Queen.”

“What are about you?” Noah did not want to leave Bebe alone in that cave.

“I will stay here and to looking for the answer.” Bebe tried to convince Noah. Noah flied out from the cave then went to castle.

The bees came in the cave. Bebe closed the barrel. He flied then hid behind barrels. He listened their talk.

“We have to process this nectar to be honey as soon as possible” One of the bees said. “We will sell that honey to others. The price will highest for now. We will get big profit.”

“Right! They think that there is poison on that nectar. Even though we made it so that no one harvest it.” The other bees said.

“Your idea was so brilliant. Now, give me the antidote.” One of the bees put some drops the white fluid into every barrels then stir it. “The best nectar ever.”

Bebe got out from his hide to face them. ”What are you doing with that nectar?” Bebe surprised them.

“Who are you?” They asked.

“I am no one.” Bebe tried to be calm. “What you are doing harmful.”

“That is not your business.” One of their bees said. They tried to attack Bebe.

Bebe did not afraid. “Now, it will be my business.” He fought to them.

Bebe faced that bees bravely. He parried their blow them flied to strike back. When the battle was ongoing, the commander came with Noah.

“Stop the battle!” The commander instructed. The bees tried escape but the troops caught them.

“Give me that antidote!” The commander took the antidote from the bees then gave it to Bebe. He put the white fluid to all nectar. The antidote made the bitter nectar to be sweet again so that Bebe and his friends could make it to be honey.

“The honey will give to all citizen free. It’s the queen’s command!” The commander announced to all. It made citizen happy.
